7th gen suspension?

ive heard a lot about people having problems with their 2k1 and 2k2 civics and their suspensions. one guy posted a while back that his shocks or something just blew when the car was pretty new, as in less than 2 yrs old...ouch
but havent heard of problems with the 2k3 like i did for the previous 2 yrs. anyone know what honda did? i read that they changed the suspension back to double wishbone in the back in 2k3 after not having the same suspension in 2k1 and 2k2. anyoine care to share any knowledge? may the ppl who had bad luck with their 7th gens just had bad luck?

i have a 2002 and the only problems i had with the suspesion is when i put a lowering spring on the stock shocks the front ones blew. but i knew this was going to happen eventialy.
in terms of recalls call your local honda dealer and give them your vin number and see if yours is on the list, see i own 2 7th gens and they where puchased 6 months appart and the was no recalls on these. it was most likely a bad batch of shocks. I hope this helped you in any way. good luck

6th gen used double wishbone front and rear, whereas the 7th gen use double wishbone in the rear, and a mac strut set-up in the front.

I have also heard about alot premature wear problems on the shocks of 7th gen Civics and 1.7ELs. Apparently there is a TSB on this issue for Acura and I'm sure also for Honda. From what I understand the problems were corrected on the 03+ models.
