4th gear...

whenever I'm switchin into 4th gear, it seems to be contacting something cause it you can actully hear a loud sound. it is not grinding or antyhing... if i switch to gear 4 slowly , it seems fine.... no noises but you can feel it's a little tight, anyone know what maybe the problem? it only happens when switching to gear 4.

any help is appreciated

if its not grinding, maybe your shifter lever is rubbing on the exhaust heatshield under the car.. it used to happen on my car when putting it in 5th or reverse, i just bent the closest exhaust hanger so the exhaust hung a little lower and all is fine

let's have a moment of silence for DT80's 4th gear... it's dead.

in all likelyhood, the gear is junk. this often happens on ppl's reverse gears, so when the go into reverse there is this massive CLUNK... I'm not sure what's wrong, but it calls for a new tranny. it's likely this is the case with your fourth gear. Try double clutching into 4th, it may extend the life of the gear a little.
