so the car is 92 civic hatch with b18a, i don't know what transmission, i think its just regular tranny that goes with b18.

The shifter is loose, at the bottom of the shifter, that hole(the one that bolt hooks onto) feels like it's worn out...

The problem is 3rd gear. When i shift slowly, like taking it out of 2nd, push it a bit to the left, and push it forward and drop the clutch, it always catches but whenever i try to just do it at normal speed, it usually won't catch, or would grind.

and once it is in, it pops out randomly. I couldn't find the pattern, it has nothing to do with load, rather, it feels like when i go over a bump, it'd pop out. I can hold it in there and it'd never pop out.

Could this simply be the shifter?

i'm gonna try changing the shifter... but then i have another question,
do i get an integra shifter? or civic shifter? It makes sense to get an integra shifter because of the swap but i don't know

Try looking in the thread "Better shifts". There is a link there that might help you. You will need a Teg shifter.
