3rd gear grind in a crx
Hey, i just a crx and there seems to be a bit of a problem.... All the gears are fine, but everytime i shift from second to third there is a bit of a grind...not really bad, but a bit noticable......from 4th to 3rd its fine but only second to 3rd......is there a way to fix this pretty cheap without having to buy a new tranny or what-not? Like any type of oil or something that reduces grinds?????
I need some help...=(

well, the grind is from 2nd to 3rd all the time, not 1st to 2nd.....but it pretty much does happen all the time...and its not a really bad sounding grind....but, it can be heard and is very annoying as I know something is wrong...but i dunno exactly what...lol.....also, if i keep driving it like that will it really screw up everything? or is it cheaper just to drive it for a while until it gets really bad...then just buy another si tranny?>

i have the same prob in my 90 crx it just started doing it about a month or a month and a half ago, and i havent really had time to check it out.... i'm gonna change my tranny oil sometime soon and well if that doesnt work i guess i'll have to get it checked

a grind will progressively get worse over time, and if you dont' care abotu the car at all and plan on scrapping it like i did then go ahead leave it till third is completely unusable or your shift fork gets destroyed not allowing you to select any gear at all....

If you tranny fluid's really old that could be the cause, your best bet is just change the tranny oil and see what that does.... If that doesn't help any then just double clutch or just skip from 2nd to 4th hehe or get a new tranny... ugh
