3 Wheeling

hey, ive seen a lot of pics of Civics doin 3 wheels

just wonderin, wut do you need to do this cuz i know u need stiff suspension but i am currently runnin just Eibachs and Neuspeed lower tie bar in my SiR but im plannin to do more suspension mods such as struts, LCA, and Sways

do i need to get full coilovers? or can i get KYB AGXs

and for Sways, would ITRs be good or do i need to go up for Suspension Techniques

any help would be nice

Thx

you do not need stiff suspension or sway bars.. you need air ride or hydraulics to 3 wheel

i think hes talking about 3 wheelin when taking hard corners around a track. for that you need real real stiff suspension.

not really, i was riding on a koni rsk kit with gsr sway bar and i was 3 wheelin' when i went auto xing. now that i have my type r rear sway on it should be even more noticable but i didn't put it on so i can just 3 wheel for the hell of it. that's just plain stupid because you're putting unneccesary stress on the subframe.

not so. i've seen a 2g 4 door civic corner on 2 wheels on stock suspension! all that was on the car was race tires. the driver was very aggressive and had a lot of skill. i have video of this, i've watched it over and over because i could not believe it myself.

I too have seen a couple guys 3 wheel on stock suspension at an auto-x, just not very often. ITR rear sway bars are good and usually inexpensove in comparison to aftermarket however I would suggest also getting a subframe reinforcement kit.

A thick rear swaybar is what you need. It will allow for very little flex, and thus raise the wheels. Not like its a good thing though.

Check out these shots of one of our customers cars at autocross on PIC full coilover suspension. They were the 12/14k model.

This was without use of a rear sway bar at all. Although you can see it in the photo, he disconnected it so that he could stay within his class (and later removed it). He had just installed the coilovers and was testing them with his setup. With this spring rate, he found the sway totally unnecessary, which allows him to add other parts, while still staying within his class.

With the right combination of tires and suspension it can be done.

Also done it going around a normal corner a couple times....going really fast...

The black hatch with the red teknotik sticker across the windshield was at the autox on the weekend. He did the most amazing 180degree sweeper turn and stayed on 3 wheels the entire time - wow!

Now i want some PIC 'demo' coilovers... Eric, what does it take to be a tester *jokeS*

Country backroads on my way home from work, cop in an expedition going the other way puts on his lights, I look down, i'm doing 130ish in an 80 (normally never see cops in this area). I start to slow down. Cops looks like he's taking from now till christmas to get himself turned around....so i drop to 3rd and i'm gone. Its a bendy road...i figure if he loses sight he has to break pursuit....NOPE! I hit 210+kph on the straights and maintain 180+ in the bends....every time i get to another coner...he's coming off the last one, lights still on, yet i'm putting alot of distance between us. I manage to turn left on a yellow light where the road takes an S bend left right after...i take the next right onto a dirt road and i take a completely different route home....never saw the cop again. I lost him at the lights.

UNFORTUNATELY, he had york region and durham police looking for me and he caught me the next week (the exact same cop in the same vehicle). Instead of having my licence taken for 6 months i ended up with just a speeding ticket!!! (i don't know how i didn't end up in the back of his cruiser that day...).

Not only that, He didn't accuse me of street racing!!!! It's a miracle!!!Nor did he brutally screen my car for illegal mods!!!LOL

Thats the story...

Needless to say, i drive like a granny now most of the time...lol.

Take my advise: DO NOT RUN!!! It was the most insane thing i have ever done and it was a huge rush, But it also scared the sh*t outta me cause i could have lost not only my licence but my car....

back to tri-poding....is it not really a good thing? Don't you want all 4 wheels on the ground for maximum grip?

quoted for the plain fact that stupidity of this by a paid member is highly frowned upon and shouldn't be overlooked by admin and mods...cheers
