Question 1st gen b16 head on b18c block

Will this work?

I would think that it would be easier, unsure though??

what would I need to complete.

KSR - Juggs any info would be great

Poor-mans Type-R - it works...well...

Basically all the benefits if swapping to 1.8l's without having to worry about adding oil lines to the LS block.

Works great.. What car is this going into? Depending what car it's going into.. you'll need different components, ie.. dist.. fuel injectors..

It's really a bolt on affair.. no worries of oil lines, etc.. If you have complete bottom end and then the complete top end.. you're set.. Just bolt them together and you got yourself a poorman ITR.

Its going into a 92 si hatch.
I've got a GSR dist. on the b16 already & running the sir fuel injectors.
Can i use the stock b16 starter alt. water pump timing belt etc with the new block

Thanks for the info guys.

Its something to consider.

Sounds like you know your stuff.. out of all those parts.. the only thing that can't be re-used is the timing belt.

Sounds interesting, I would like to know what kind of performance figures are we looking at here? Might consider doing this in the future.

I don't get this? B18C is a GSR right? So why would putting a B16 head on make an improvement in performance? Like wouldn't that be worse? Isn't a GSR head better than a SIR head? Someone please explain to the underprivledged incompetent Honda person.

Basically a GSR and ITR have the same bottom end...Except for some higer compression pistons.

B16 and ITR head are basically the same, except for the under graded valvetrain and factory port and polish. The GSR has a slightly smaller combustion chamber to raise the compression a little, but the B16/ITR head has better flow characteristics... Therefore making it the head of choice for building.

Does that make any sense or help you at all?

I Think you guys were getting the wrong Idea.

My plan is to take my First gen B16 and put a gsr block on it to increase that ever elusive torque figure.

A stroker kit from crower might also be considered.

Would that cost more than just buying a H22A?
