1st gen b16 or 2nd gen b16

I was just wondering, when you have a 92-95 civic hatch what b16 would you swap? first gen or second gen. Because is the 92-95 hatch a obd1 or obd2 if it was obd2 the It would make more sense to do b16a2 right??? that would be a mess to re wire for a different computer...

I had a kid pull up beside me and said he had a b16...
I said first gen???
He said ya

could this be ?????

He could have had a first gen and just swapped the tranny to cable.... but for you you want an OBD1 2nd Gen B16a with a hydro tranny. Direct bolt in.

like Happy said, not all 2nd Gen B16A's are OBDII,.

try and get one out of a '93-'95 del Sol DOHC VTEC or a JDM '92'95 Civic SiR ... they are OBDI.

i think like what jugglez said is if you get motor from a 92-95 civic SiR from japan that will be a b16a which is obd1.... and same with the 93-95 del sol... the engine code is b16a3 but its the same motor i believe... and is also obd1

to my knowledge they started doing obd2 from 96 and after??

Well yeah, several thngs need to be "changed", but nothing needs to be modified which means it is a direct bolt in.
