1993 prelude alternator
Hey I wasn't too sure where I should post this but here it is...
my alternator needs replacement, so... i took off the power steering, the mounting bolts off the alternator(minus one on the bottom, i have no idea how to get it out, i think it may be stuck?) i can't get my hands to fit anywhere else to get it out easily. Now. I have NO FREAKIN CLUE how to loosen that belt on the alternator!!! can't find the tensioner bolt that most cars have. Also, I was thinking maybe i had to get under the car or something but my cars sitting on my drive way and it's also lowered a bit.. i am so very frustrated over this you have no idea. i hope someone can help. i am at the point where i'm also willing to pay someone to come to my house and do it for me. please help =( ps. what makes matters worse is that i don't even think i can re-assemble everything so i'm royally screwed even if i do get it out.. and will most likely HAVE to call one of those mobile mechs.. |
Look it up in the service manual. There is a link to download the service manual in the DIY section.
I remember doing mine on my B16. There was JUST enough room to get it out and the new one in. I had to move a couple hoses and such to make room and had to orient the alternator JUST right to get the old one out and the new one in. |
jesus. i ended up being able to do it. i read everywhere and there was literally nothing that i did not do. the alternator was just seized from the rust, pryed it loose.
i took off the bracket/mount that the powersteering goes on to make it easier to pull out |
