Question 15hp from just a CAI??? Possible???

So on the 8thgen Civic site where I post, there are plenty of threads about making all this crazy hp from just bolt-ons. All these 06 Civic owner's are going nut just from intakes and cat-backs, which in most cases only yield minimal gains from what I've seen on otherwise stock Civics.

Sure you guys with swaps and hightly tuned engines see more, but 15hp from just a CAI.

well, the question is no longer "possible or not possible"
that person in fact back'd his statement with proofs... so i guess its possible... and the reason to this is maybe the stock civic airbox is really restrictive... and the k-series can actually take much more air to produce more hp... just like many people says the K-series motor is very responsive to upgrades... now i'm pretty amazed!!!! =)

oh btw, that guy is doing it on the Si, so i guess this might not apply to all other trim levels like LX/EX... (a notes to others)

Well I think it has something to do with the new engines Honda is putting out. They seem to respond better to mods. I have an article about the toda exhaust, headers, and cams for a rsx type s. Those 3 pieces were bolted onto a stock rsx-s, and they yielded a gain of 60whp. Not too bad. Now if I tried that on my d-series I might gain 20hp at the crank if I was lucky.

i have heard alot about the k-series motors responding very well to bolt ons, i dont see why the new si would be any different.

yeah.. the Si wouldn't be different...
except the regular coupes/sedan runs the R-series... so i guess its a different story then =)

unfortunately bolt ons really only work for the K20A2 motors.. not to confuse them with the base EX/LX models.. dont need a bunch of kids goin around sayin they can get 15hp with a CAI on their EX... im sure there are a tad bit of gains on the rest of the trim levels but nothing really noticeable

me and my buddy bolted on a CAI on a A2 and then a A3 and lol it was so garbage on the A3
