1 trailing arm or 2

I replaced one of my trailing arms with EF's or CRX's, dont know for sure.. all I know is the drum diameter is smaller than my stock unit.

Now i have a smaller drum on the passanger side and stock on the drivers. Would braking be affected by this much, or shoudl I swap both trailing arms for the smaller units?

AFAIK, you can reuse your stock drum on the EF trailing arm. Wait... was this the brake issue you experienced?

yes it was... i think it might have been the wheel cylinder with the broken off bleeder screw... seems to work better now... havnt bled it fully now...

but anyways i had the parts.. and didn't want to buy new ones so I just swapped the trailing arm combo with a brake cable too.

you know... though it's not what I'd do, you could leave it as it is. Just remember that when you gotta buy new drums It will not affect braking performance on the street in any noticable way.

so you don't need the lines, calipers, booster, and M/C I was gonna bring? right?

nope no need for em anymore B, although i really appreciate the help

i think it was the wheel cylinder afterall, maybe it was pooched inside or something...

but to date I have swapped M/C with a rebuilt unit, put in a a diff brake booster, and checked all lines, the last part seemed to help

if you have to replace it, I'd go with the disc conversion and be done iwth it.

for the rears i wouldn't even worry... the rear brakes hardly any work anyways... thats a solid ghetto mod though

perhaps a slight weight reduction as well

i doubt they'd even think to check the diameter of the drums they'd look at them but i doubt they'd take the both off and line them up

punk, for certification, they have to measure the thickness of the rotors and they diameter of the drums to make sure there is enough life left in the brakes. I'm sure they'll notice something's up.

loudsubz, why not get a new wheel cylinder? they are about $15 in my experience. (2 years ago for the Samurai) at Carquest. Call around. Real easy to change too!
