1.50"- 2" enough?

I am going to put some H&R sport springs on my 96 Civic Coupe. I want it pretty low but not so low that I have to deal with all those problems. Will the sport springs be low enough? Or should I go with the race springs? If anyone has any pics of their car with sport springs, post them. Thanks

Adam

I had Sportlines last summer, with Stock shocks and 205/40/60 tires. It was a summer to remember!!:fustrated In a bad way that is ofcourse! That was one of the worst things that could happen to my car!! Ride quality was SH*T !!! On the highway ramps, car tended to jump off the road over every little bump and the car was just dangerous to drive over 130Kms/h !!!

If you wanna stay with the stock shocks, make sure you use tires with AT LEAST 50mm sidewalls. That is 205/50/15 for example. Reason is that the tires with taller side walls (thats what 50mm is for) will absorb the vibrations and bumps and give a hand to your stock shocks to handle the road conditions. If you go with lower profile tires, 205/45/16 or 205/40/16,17 for example, the tires wont absorb anything and your shocks alone won't be able to damp the ride enough and therefore, you're gonna have the worst ride quality and most UNdriveable car ever!!

This summer, I will be using my H&R sports from last season, with a set of Tokico Gas shocks and 205/45/16 Toyo Proxes.

That should give me a good handeling, good ride quality, and is easy on my wallet as well!

bla bla bla it's never a good idea to ride stock shocks with those kinda spring rates because they can't handle them and just because they don't blow right away doesnt mean its ok. if you cant afford aftermarket shocks right away then its your choice but riding on my gr2's i dont know how anyone can ride on stock shocks.

LOL!! can u even buy 2 springs, wait, heres a better idea, u and a budy split on the springs lol then u got a cheap and simple lowering solution. man i should get into marketing lol i got 2.5 inch drop on gr2s as well, they are amazing, i never bottom out and i never scrape my front bumper, if u cant afford to lower ur car safly and properly i just wouldnt do it at all, after reading alot of threads on here about suspension i realized when everyone on the board tells u not to lower on stock shocks they are prolly rite, either they have done it or rode in a car who had done it, it sucks lol, sorry bout the long story but just wait till u can get everything at once, or consider a cup kit or something along the lines
