1/4 motor??

Heres my question to the board

I have searched up some of this stuff but still need a bit more info

Car: 92 Hb Dx - 5 Speed
Motor: N/a
Budget: 5k give or take (not includin install)

I dont want a H series, lookin more for a B series engine
still choosing from b16a or a b18c1
ya ya i know b18c1 is far better, but also more cash, so there would be more of a build on the b16a,
I havent been able to 1/4 times that are some what real
I have heard stock GSR's can run from 13.7+
and b16a2 run 14.3???

what will all of u suggest would be the best for a daily driver but also a trackable car that wont just make alot of noise and go no where...?

i don' think a stock gsr in a eg could do 13.7.. i would go with a b16 and go all motor.. p & p .. head shaved cams cam gears.. Easy 13's then

B18C1 is the clear choice... stock motor>modded motor for a daily driver.

I agree with Bbarbulo,

if you mod a motor too much the reliability of the whoel system comes into play and well you might not get to work one day...

I do like the K24 idea there Matt...

k24's stroke is 99mm... thats way to long for anything other then lower rpm truck type driving... once you start reving it the pistons speeds will get to a point where the friction on the walls will loose power

ya but does the k24 have strong rods oil squiters and crank girdle...probobly built for abuse..

b16 = low 15's maybe a high 14 with some mods so it's a waste if your on a budget get a b20 or ls and mod it

or jsut get a gsr and thank me later....b16 = big waste of $$$ unless you have a light gutted 4th gen then it's ok

There's no replacement for displacement esp. for daily driver.
