if its a spun a rob bearing than more than likely it will make the noise after 3k or something and you wont really hear it before and it should be getting faster the higher you rev the engine... could be piston slap as well... what did you do before you ran out of oil??? ripping it on the hwy??? thats what i did when i ****ed my d-series...
and if you mechanic said you seized your motor up... get a new mechanic... right away... he's an idiot...
i assume you drove it out of the garage... seized motor means its not cranking or anything... which would mean you aren't going forward... if you drive with a spun rob bearing or something, it will eventually seize up and then you are stuck...
i drove around for like a month and half with my motor like that until i did my swap and nothing happened... but depends on how bad it is...
