**HELP** Want to get an exhaust on a limited budget
I'm looking around to get an exhaust and cat and don't want to spend more than $400 (incl install) - I like the fireball look, but pretty much anything that's louder than stock(but not too loud) would do.
Any suggestions on what to get? where to look? |
If i had a maxium budget of $400, I would look for a used magnaflow catback (i've seen a few for around 250-300) They are stainless steel, so they last for a long time. Magnaflow isn't that too loud of a catback also, it's a nice deep growl, that's if you are looking in the aftermarket category.
If you want a tad more power and a little more noise, look into the type-r catbacks. Also install on a catalyic convertor and a catback shouldnt run you that much, i wouldn't worry about it. Pretty much anybody can do it, if the bolts aren't seized. |
It's going to be very hard to find somthing brand new with a cat and full exhuast for 4 bills and ontop of that you said with install

yeah the install is going to bring it over 400 most likely if you want a good quality exhaust. If you are willing to drive to Oakville I would install your catback/cat for a cheap price.

u need alteast 700 for name brand and install product :)

if you have a 2002 si there was a guy sellin a mid pipe stainless for dirt cheap on one of these forums, its a start. Usually i've seen over axels go for 120+/- around there. Go with a full stainless its worth the money. I spent close to 500 for a custom 2.5 cat back sluminized piping. Never again, after 5 years all the welds started rusting out and had to throw it out.
Be patient look around. Would a rsx or tsx system be compatible with certain pieces of your car? |
