Here are some answers to a few concerns I thought that any of you would have if considering buying a direct import.

Insurance:
RBC is the best I have spoke with so far, I got quoted around 240per month, I live Downtown, am 22yrs old and just got my G lic.
If anyone is interested in a Skyline and want a quote with your driving record please E-mail me and I will give you a ref# at RBC to refer to.

Parts:
I can have them here in 2-4weeks cost is similar to that of any domesticaly available sports car, i.e: 300ZX, Supra, 3000GT.

Old car issue:
The average km's driven per year in Japan is around 7000.
They don't use salt in the winter (very little to no rust) and every 50000Km's you have to rebuild your engine or you can't registar your car on the road.

So the condition of these cars is far beter then what is available here in that year range.

I would say that the 2 Skylines I have in town now are in similar condition to a used 99 modle car.

Servicing these cars:
We are currently searching for a suitable dealership location and can't offer service at this time, We can however get you parts, and refer you to a shop that is familar with these cars for the time being.

Thank you very much for your comments, please feel free to let me know your 2 cents worth anytime and I will be sure to consider what you have to say.

All the Best
Gabe

This cars specs are as follows:

horsepower
214 hp @ 6200 rpm

torque
194 ft.lbs @ 3200 rpm

weight
1320 kg (2910.1 lbs)

The car is legal because we followed the 15yr import rule, and know how to clear these cars through customes.
At the present time we are only toying with a few ideas of how to import newer then 15yr old cars.

We should have some good/bad news by next spring.

so what are you paying tax on, 8% of what value? Surely the MTO doesn't have a listing for the wholesale and retail value of a Nissan Skyline, and I dont think anyone in their right mind would tell them that they paid 16000 for the car.....soooo, what do you pay tax on?

I think they charge 8% base on the value when you import the car, must have some value show on the paper work from the custom.

Interested

Interested in a skyline but ny any chance you have a different color and what happenes if I god forbid get into a accident or some thing...how reliable is your source for parts. Also any way you can import a GTR witha twin turbo with the complete kit..under 100k engine stock would be nice but a little modded is fine to. Got $20,000 to play around with!!!
