This gear set and FD shouldn't be used together. The final drive is really the gear on the output shaft and the ring gear on the diff and these are machined as a set and shouldn't be used with other gears. Need to replace one, replace them both as a set.

Also I don't know D series gears sets as well as I used to since I've replaced most of that info with B series stuff lately, and I'm also working with the assumption that your EX is our Si in Canada (D16z6/D16y8) and the LX is the same as ours with Non V D15/16's but wouldn't that maybe make it long gears for 1-3 and then a short 4-5 making it almost like you had 2 third gears and aren't 5th in all d series nearly the same?

Again I'm basing this of foggy memories since I switched to b series a while ago and haven't really looked back. Most of my D knowledge is still there but it's not like I did trans internals a whole lot. Really anything more then swapping out seals and bearings wasn't common for me back then.

edit. according to this, 4-5 are the same regardless of EG/EK as well as V/Non V

I was just sorta throwing it out there. I need to edit these posting it was late one night when I posted these. I've been just experimenting with d series gears and learning how to build them. Its 3rd and 2nd gears that were switched 4th and 5th are all the same unless I think its the HB that has a higher 5th. Not 100% though. The final doesn't go with this set I have the correct input and countershaft to match. I like to tearing them apart and experimenting but I think I'm going to just hold on to everything and leave it at that. I'm glad you responded I was hesitant on selling this stuff anyways
