weekend racing

What a great weekend for racing this was 2 races sunday and monday

since I'm still new to solo2 and pro solo my times weren't the best, however I did manage to remain in the middle of my car's class in both events

1st event was the solo 2 at bronte Go station run by the competition corvette club and wow that parking lot was amazing it was also my first time on the r compounds and those tires were amazing grippy like nothing else

2nd event was pro solo at square one today (monday) it was new format to me since it was my first time out this format ... basically it's 2 course that are a mirror of each other and you drive one course and race someone driving the second course idea is to beat them around... the 4 qualifying runs happen really fast they tended to run the order quickly... I was done the 4 qualifiers in about an hour (2 runs on each track qualifiers are just for time and not against another car) I made it to the elimation round where I was nudged out in the first elim round by a protege that caught me sleeping at the christmas tree(opps)

all in all I had a fun time and enjoys creating some tire smoke at the corvette club event when I discovered what it's like to enter a 180 degree hairpin turn too hot...(opps)

Nest week is regional solo 2 in picton I can't wait

Which class were you in? It was a great event, I qualified 17th, too bad only 16 advance, oh well, $10 a run was still worth it!

I was in A class (civic CX hatchback with nothing done to it)

which car were you? I knew Twin lakes had guys there but I didn't know you were running I would have said hi...

ohhh wait a second (turned on sigiture viewing, clicked on link for your car)... you were in B class .. I remember your car now I was marshaling and made a comment to one of the other marshals at my station about how I amazed you were autocrossing with how low that car was.... I'm going to have to try to make it to one of the twin lake events this season ...

It's in Bracebridge on a go-kart track, it's an awesome venue (follow the link in my sig for more details) after the event you could head around the other side of Lake Simcoe to Shannonville and totally avoid the traffic in TO.

Jason, you can have as many people run your car as you want, just ask to make sure you don't get gridded immediately after each other, leave a couple of spots, not too many though, you can use your friend as a "tire warmer"

I'm sure someone will loan a helmet, but since I'm pretty sure you won't be using your car at the same time, you won't be using your helmet at the same time either.

We'll probably be setting up a meeting time/place and convoy up from Barrie if you wanna join.

well I'll be there but I'm not sure from where I'll be coming I have to look at a larger map and figure stuff out... as for my helmet ... I'm more possesive of that then my car ... I was just curious as to whether or not the club had loaner helmets available.

and yes I was thinking of the tire warmer Idea...muahahahaha
