You could say it's the latest in the evolution of the ignition system. For MANY years it was dizzy with seperate (usually one) coil and wires to the plugs. Then it was coil packs (in various arrangements) with no dizzy, just wires from the coil packs to the plugs. And now they just put a coil directly on each plug. They can use smaller, more efficient coils (there is no loss over the length of wire because there is no lead wire) and control the ignition timing with even more precision.

If they allow, we can pop the cover off someone's k20 and take a look tonight.

i believe i got my spark plug socket.... extention... and 3/8 torque wrench in my car so yeah... if u have teh spark plugs i can do it for u... all we need it that friggen sick led light that sum1 pulled out @ that sheridan mall meet.. lol
