Cool lol

i signed up here because i wanna make meets and stuff and yes my mom drives a honda vtec and its fast but ive been a vw fan since i was in grade 4 cuz my brother got me into it first of all i dont liek the sound of hondas exhaust it sounds garbage but when u take a corrado vr6 push a exhaust on that REMUS u will hear some sound and plus if you have a vr6 just bore it from 2.8 to 3.1 and u will be smoking any honda anytime u will have like 280-320HP

well, last summer when i had my civic (had to sell it) which was a 91 dx hatch with a b16 I/H/E and a few other minor mods, i used to beat alot of cars. Vr6's are not that fast. I took type-r's, RSX type-s, 5.0l stangs(stock ones though), and a few vr6's. DO not underestimate the b16 in a fourth gen hatch. I do agree that the corrado might weight more, but i have beaten a golf with a vr6 aswell. But for who ever it was that said a chip in a vr6 would make bigger gains then a b16 which needed thousands of dollars to get big gains, no so. For the low price of $150, you could have your ecu chipped, mugen, spoon, or custom, plus $350 for a set of type-r cams, and waa laa. You now potentially have a high 13 sec car if you can drive. A stock B16 in a 4th gen civic hatch with I/H/E should run 14.7-14.9 easily at the track.

and then you woke up..
go and drive a golf VR6 that has cams and all the same mods as your car and watch your self when you try to swallow th efoot that is in your mouth...

guys i mean come on please IT IS A BETTER ENGINE plain and simple.

more displacment = more potential
more cylinders= smoother more consistant power

forget al the **** you read in the magiznes and all the numbers you have figured out on the ricecop calculator just go drive them both and then answer this question for your self....

in my opinion RB26 is a sweet engine too...you guys wanna try to tell me that your 816's and frankenstine are going to PUMP those too?....good luck....how about 4age's and V-tec vs. TVIS....i have heard all the honda lover arguments i can take..if the VR6 had a honda logo on it and bolted into a EG6 you know half of you would have one in your garages right now....

stop trying to represent the hoda name and start representing the truth....(p.s. a stock tiburon can pump a stock civic for those that didn't know)

If I had the money.. I'd drop in an M3 engine into my civic
Or maybe I'd drop a Lexus IS300 engine into my civic.

Well..................

For the guy who said they bought the SIR for 100HP/L that is just plain gay. Sorry.

The B16 is a great engine showing off the ability of Honda engineers to do great things with so little.

What gets me is everyone thinks that domestic and other car manufacturers are not capable of these things. They place some of the Honda engines on these untouchable pedestol. Sorry.

The B16 doesn't start making any decent power until like 5000RPM anyway = sucks for driveability unless you are winding her up.

Domestic/Euro car engineers can do the same things as Honda engineers if they wanted to. But that is not their niche nor part of their market alure. They focus on other things to sell their cars.

Yeah VR6's are no scream in hell anyway. Compare a 00 Gofl VR6 to a 00 SIR, likely the GOLF will win in the 1/4 maybe even longer. Why? Torque. Also cuz it is friggin difficult to launch a car that doesn't make any significant power until at least 5000RPM, while keeping the tires from spinning to all hell.

So B16 is nice, so is VR6. The B16 has 160HP the VR6 has 172HP. Who really gives a **** about the HP/L??

b16 all the way!

i personally think high revving engines are WAY more fun to drive. especially after driving my friend's new 1.8T. even though that thing has decent torque it's not nearly as fun as driving my SiR and revving the hell out of it

To help further break it down, B is for two humps, ie two cams, (as opposed to a D16) one cam, and 16 stands for 1.6L.

Which is also the name of the dressed up civic in the Acura lineup
(1.6/1.7 EL)

Most B16 Hondas (The ones sold in North America) only comes with a standard tranny.
