Why won't someone write an artical from our prospective. i mean all the public hears is that imports are street racers. why can't someone tell about all the anti-street racing clubs and how these clubs (like ours) are like another family. Just a bunch of ppl who love and enjoy driving their own custom or stock rides.
When an officer writes an artical its biased, trying to get parents attention and the part of the unaware public that doesn't know whats going on and give them preconcived ideas on what (kids) are up to. For every story theres two side and ours should be as important as a police officers.
Sorry but this is just my like rant on how were getting a bad rap just because some ppl aren't careful

actually that kenny guy seems like maybe he's more reasonable than most regular cops:

"We're looking for education, not convictions."

of course he might just be bullshitting for the article.

That first article didn't seem that offensive. At least his INTENTIONS seem to be eductation over persecution. There are some kids out there that are just ridiculus with it. Everyone will go thru stages like that when growing up but some kids now-a-days are a little more careless than they used to be. It's fun to fix up your car and beat the guy...but some people can't handle their car that well (especially when it's wet out). They get that much power and speed and it could mean "ouch" all around to themselves or any unlucky spectators

That article made me wonder.....he let a kid go that was doing 116 in a 60 zone!!!!
And yet, I get a ticket for tints too dark....I guess speeding is not as important as tints!!

I agree that they need to educate these young people.

I am not a street racer in any sense, now I have taken off quick from a light, and had a little fun, but I know the point where it is not worth it. I will not push my car to unsafe speeds on a regular street. I know my car, and it has limits, I also am very aware of my personal driving skills, and they also have limits. It took me a very long time to learn what my car can and cannot do, and I worked my way into it.

They need to realize that this is not just imports or modded cars doing these things, any vehicle with an idiot behind the wheel is dangerous, especially because these people are doing it anytime of day (even during rush hour)

I have to admit I agree with the 'Fast and the Furious' comment, did you see the things that went on in the parking lots after that movie?

couldnt agree with you more. but unfortunately the cops dont see it that way. they automatically equate street racers to imports.

ok well thats a good read but WTF that kid that was speeding 56km over he shoulda got a ticket..

in the first one it seemed like the police don't mind the "RACERS" being at the meeting spots before they go on the cruise to the race....
like the way he was talking sounded like they just want to see whats going on with the ppl's car and tell them whats wrong with it if something is wrong
i know im really wrong but oh well thats just what i got from it
i think..

I wonder if the cop would have been that lienient if the reporter wasn't around?

Did anyone notice the cop's proposal that the sale of NOS be banned. This is rediculous, what about the legitimate person that only races their car at the track, why should they not be allowed to purchase and use NOS.

that article made me laugh!!! so damn pathetic

the government should allocate that money and resources towards social programs for people who aren't fortunate enough to even have a car.

the focus should be on city-building, not on enforcing lame-*** light-bulb-colour laws!! :working:

PACER..what the hell is that ....You know what pisses me off...the fact that they say " 16 people have died from racing over the last 4 yrs " Ok well its sad that 16 died but common...thats over the last 4 yrs. You get 3 times as much people dying from drinking and driving each year and they are making such a big deal from racing. What about all the other crime outh there. Most of the racing accidents happened in cars that are not even suitable for racing. Such as mini vans, and non performance cars. You can't blaim US for a few stupid people that don't think. No matter what program they do were still gonna race. Most uf us know the right from wrong and when to race and when to draw the line. Why would they waste their time and our $$$ to come up with such stupidness like this. It makes no sence to me.

Thats just my $0.2 ...

What do you guys think

quit bittching

Cops pick on those that want to be picked on

1. People mod cars to be noticed(wheter its spl, body and paint or hp)only problem is everyone notices car that is trying to stand out including police, what im saying it is it comes with the teritory. If you don't want to be pulled over for bs like blue headlights and being too lowered then don't do it. By a freeking mazda protege and drive like a normal person and nobody will bother you. Don't complain about it. it is your decision.

Don't be full of ****, most speed and race at one time or another

2.All performance cars attract attention. especially loud exhaust and stereos. cops know that if your spending every penny you have trying to make your car go faster and faster, chance are you drive faster and faster. Street racing is illegal. BUt fun. Take your chances and enjoy your life.

What difference does it make anyways. Quit bitching and go about your driving. Don't wanna deal with ****, sell your car and buy a auto sedan(no offence to those in club with that).

i agree. but as long as PACER does things the RIGHT way and actually targets street racers and not just people with modded cars i'm fine with it.

but i really think that sending half a dozen cruisers out to a local car gathering is over doing it. the best way is to go undercover and catch people in the act. and from what i've been hearing, it sounds like they are doing just that.

umm...u realize that people are getting pulled over for LEGAL mods right? cops just like to harass you. that definitely should NOT "come with the territory". sure if your car is scraping the ground then u're an idiot for lowering it that much and you should get pulled over. but come on, things like hyperwhite lights that shine white shouldnt be getting the amount of attention they do from cops. and it's not just the super loud exhausts that are getting tickets, pretty much any aftermarket exhaust can be deemed "too loud" by a cop.

why should people have to resort to driving stock cars around to avoid being pulled over??? that's total bs. like i said, unless they catch someone in the ACT of street racing, all this harassment for any type of mods is bullsh*t.

Thats was my whole point.... This PACER program will not only be enforced on STREET RACING but also on MODIFIED CARS. Now that is what pisses me off....

Fine2Ne -- Don't tell me that if I don't want to be pulled over , that I should just get a regular car...That is not th point here...what were trying to get across is that modifying cars is more of a hobby we have....Police gets on anyones as if they have exhaust, clear lights, blue, lights, lowered or whatever it may be....Now that is the problem...I can be driving 90km/hr on DVP and a guy with a regular car will drive by me 130 and I'll be the one pulled over..thats the point...Not buying a normal car in order not to be bothered....I am not trying to be bitch about this..its just a point I want to get across...Thats all...

And as SIR-Racer said.. as long as PACER does things the RIGHT way and actually targets street racers and not just people with modded cars i'm fine with it..

point in turn

your hobby is my hobby i do it as well. I'm no angel telling you this, i race, i drive fast and i love it...I AM NOT SAYING you deserve getting pulled over but my point is this. Just like the celebrity who bitches about papparazi or fame. They are not avoidable because the word celebrity and fame go hand in hand. they are the same thing. You have a modded car for a reason because you like it. Cops harasss your *** because that is what the police chief wants them to do. You don't want to be bothered buy a corolla or a malibu or something.

Oh and if that stock car that drives by you is a mustang or a camaro or porsche or something he will be the one seeing the cherry tree. Not your modded civic.

NOt starting a fight just making the point
NICE CAR(especially one that looks and is fast)= POLICE ATTENTION(not the nice kind)

i've had it all happen to me already speeding, exhaust, clear lights, even been followed by opp from 427 to morningside for no apparent reason other than to check that i had al my paper work with me. DEAL WITH IT YOU"LL be a much calmer person.

C'est la vie
