tips and tricks for the track.

well... it is in the subject of this forum, so I thought I would start a tread on it.

first: when approaching the staging, if you are on all seasons, go around the water pit... avoid it like no tomorrow, and do not do a burn out.

next: stage and wait for the lights... go on the 3rd yellow. Perfect r/t is .500... that is the time between each yellow and the green, so go on the last yellow.

Next: know your shifting points... try to shift into your max torque rpm

Dont race the person next to you... race yourself! just trust me on that.

edit: and add your own if you like

When using street tires, I find that if you spin the tires (only one or two rotations are needed) this will remove any loose dirt that are on the tires.

When staging the car.......
Do not pre-stage the car (turning on the first white light) until both competitors are done doing their burnouts (if applicable) and moving towards the starting line.

It is common courtesy to not stage (turning on the second white light) until both competitors have staged.

You will not find this in any rulebook, however it is common courtesy that is very often overlooked when at the track.
~
Try not to spin your tires at the starting line, this will only increase your ET .........and tick off the track staff.
~
Also for those people interested in sqeeuzing every possible tenth of a second out of their car, have a friend assist you when you are staging the car...... have them look at where the beams hit your tire. Tell them to make sure that they are placed in the exact same spot every time, this will help build consistency and improve your reaction times.
