Was just at the "SOLO" web page and going through the registration page and found this:

"Please download the required forms, complete as necessary and bring them with you to the
Solo 1 Open House on April 7th, 2002
at Cedarbrae Volkswagen, 666 Markham Rd. Scarborough, Ont. 1 to 5:00pm."

Something about that address.... I get funny feelings looking at that address... don't know what it is.... Should I sign the forms in my own blood???

It's an absolute wild time.. fun to watch the guys out there that don't care about their cars
anyways, as I find out more, i'll post it up
the schedule actually came out in like january. all the clubs (ie non regional) have had their schedule up by the end of march. With all the chit chat you guys have missed today's open house. Stephen aka jdm_hatch was there with me along with 3rd_wish. We're all registered and ready to go.

Man, if I was going to do autocross, I'd have to fix up a gen 4 or 5 hatch back, I can't afford to run my gen 7 into the ground on the course.

Are you allowed to do break upgrades and remove the back seats in the "stock" class?

sorry i don't browse this forum that much.

you do not need to be a member of a casc affiliated club to do some of the auto-x events. however some clubs have posted this restriction such as corvette club. the Rx7/miata club however let anybody join in on their auto-x events. You don't need to register for their series to run, although you can. The open house for them is this coming sunday at wheel & tire zone in mississauga from 12:00pm-2:30pm.

I am doing the regional series + the pitl (rx7miata) series.

You can join HADA whenever you like. Get a neat t-shirt or cap + a lot of stickers hehehe.

Break upgrades are allowed for stock class, however removing seats it depends how many.... but most likely you could in the stock class. But once you do suspension upgrades you're outta the stock class.

You guys are talking alot about suspension (sway and strut bars and don't forget about your tie bars either) but you should also have upgraded brake kits for circuit type racing .You will fry stock brakes in one race, easily.Trust me , I would know!!

Yup that is a good point. A nice clutch and some quality tires wouldn't be a bad idea either.

in order to rally you have to have completed the rally school which is $$$$ and get a rally license which is also $$$$. Rally is no bullshit and unless u have experience in other types of racing well.... u know. Wow been long since I checked the board.

It's suggested not to do suspension mods until u actually know how to maneuver your car. You'll be bumped up to modify class and in there vulture would just chew you up and spit you back out. Get experience in the stock class (which is really competitive also) and slowly move into modifying.

auto xing

hi guys and gals im new here at tcc just browsing through your boards and saw the auto crossing stuff. yeah that sure is fun stuff. ive been to the push it to the limit series for the last three years when i still drove an 85 rx7 but i drive a civic sedan now and i want to run there this yr. itd be nice to go there with a bunch of other civics. in my experience you dont have to be very competitive if its your first time. you'll have lots of fun when your just driving through the courses. even the "veteran" guys there makes mistakes.
later, hope to see u guys there.

I've been soloing for a few years now and it's great fun. If anyone is considering going to a solo event thenbest upgrade you can make is to buy a set of "R" Compound Tires (i.e. Toyo Proxes RA1, or the Yoko A032). I got a set of RA1's this year and went from midpack times to top three in my class at today's event at the Hershey Centre.

Don't waste your time with Strut Tower Braces, they are supposed to stiffen the suspension mounting point to minimize chassis flex and quicken steering response. Unless you drive a DEL SOL or a VW they don't do dick all. The sway bars attach to the controls arms of your suspension and minimize body roll by twisting. They keep the chassis settletled during hard cornering thereby making you go faster.

If any new guys are going to an autocross email me and we can hook up at the event and I can give you some pointers and you could even ride along with me during a run.

I'd love to learn more about Autocrossing.

Its would probably make you into a lot better driver too.

I'm willing to hear any tips or advice anyone has to offer

Hey Sam. You're really going to do autoX? Man, don't use your good car - buy like an 89 hatch, and just slap black steelies and cheapie aftermarket brakes on it Don't kill your good car :working: :working: :working:
