Push It to the Limit! - Enough about Cayuga

I don't see anyone asking how "Push It Too the Limit" was.

I guess very few people know that Ryan and Charlie Hook, my friend Andrew and myself went to the final PITL event on Saturday September 21st.

For Ryan, Andrew and myself, it was our first SOLO.
Charlie did Solo 30 some years ago, but he can still boogie with the best of them.

Running SOLO was awesome and was really a test of how well you knew how your car handled and manuvered.

It was pure driver skill more than anything.

We saw an old Isuzu Storm with huge body roll, lots of wheel noise, but an amazing driver that ate up the course and still made the machine dog leg with a stock suspension.

There were no super tricked out cars, maybe a couple of home made cars, one being a morgan 7

Something that all of you would enjoy, which you don't need any fanciness to your car, just bring it and drive it.

SOLO is actually something our cars are much better at doing.

Hey Sam, I've heard of it and I saw a SOLO II event I believe at Square One.

I'd love to go to one of these things, are there anything you need, other than the helmet right?
Never been to a SOLO nor to Cayuga or even St. Thomas. Was too scared to bring my civic there, espically my old beat up white one.
But yeah, Sam hit me up with some more info. Would be very intrested, but I'm assuming that most of these things are almost over since winter is right around the corner.

59.858 seconds

But who knows what that means, I finished middle of the pack.

Best time that day was 47.XXX seconds.

Don't feel bad Sam, I finished 2nd last with 5 DNFs. I swear on the last 2 runs I did not go off course but hey whatever... I had tonnes of fun and next year I think I'll be participating in all of them.

haha.. i definatly don't feel bad ryan! I beat a 2002 miata by like 0.5 second in the overall standing... muhaha

yea.. those DNF's were horrible.. i also swear that 2 of my runs were clean, but hey, whatever

i had 7 runs total (6 + 1 fun run), and my best time was in the fun run. i guess no pressure means better run. but yea, i learnt tonnes bout my car and definatly want some springs to lessen the dive next summer. also, learning the cars dynamics was priceless.

next summer, we'll hit all the events together!

Yeah! Autocross rocks!!! I love whooping much better and faster cars with my D15 powered EG Sedan... There is still one event left in Barrie too, it's Next Sunday (Oct 20) at the Barrie Molson Center (Behind MOlson Park)

Go to the TLMC link in my sig... and look under autocross or slalom or something. It's a great time... hope to see some of you guys next week-end. I really enjoy beating all the WRX's from the Toronto Subaru Club, don't get me wrong, I love the WRX and it will be my next car but the Civic is almost a perfect Auto-X monster... Just be prepared, if you do come you WILL be beat by a Fiero, a crappy POS Mustang and an old 1 litre non-turbo RX-7

It's good to see that you all enjoyed your first few outing, I like to see more people get interested in this stuff. I have been hooked for about three years now and I am still coming back for more, for the people that went to the PITL I was driving the white Z24 with neon rims. And I totally agree beating more expensive cars makes it that more fun. Oh here is a picture of my car
