Ontario regional Solo 2 series Event #4: COMP

Wow what a day I had for Solo 2 today's event was hosted by the Competition Corvette Club at the bronte Go Station. wow they set up a 70 second course on the huge lot they have access to and boy was it fast I was shoifting to 3rd it was so fast. for those that don't know I shift into the next gear only when the shift idiot light comes on and it's set to 6K rpm... wow 120 KM/h into a very small braking zone follwed by a 2 wheel-only touching the ground trip around a 180 degree mid speed corner...I've never had so much fun.

For the 1st run I was marshalling so I didn't have a time. however the second set of runs (my first) I was fast enough for first place in my class. I got faster on the Third set of runs, and for the fourth set of runs (my third) I was still in first. then it started to go bad... one of the other drivers in my class who because of the run order runs before me set a **.7 second time. I countered with a **.9 but it wasn't good enough I lost first place. on my fifth run I didn't get any faster and my fastest time of the day stood at **.9 good enough for second place. I can't believe I held first place as long as I did! After the fourth run I was in first by only a few hundredeths of a second. it was really close. the competition in HS is really heating up.

I would not be where I am Today if it wasn't for the support of my sponsors. They support a TCC member's quest for class championship in Solo 2 so please support them and let them know you heard about the products they sell from me.

I concurr Jason, what a great event, I'm so glad the rain held off. You were hitting 3rd Jason? wow, I never did... don't we have the same tranny?

I had a 68.0 on my last run but apparently they lost that score (I only ended up with 4 times) so thank God my 68.5 was still good enough for 2nd in my class. I'll never get a first since there is a very serious competitor with a very, very serious car in my class...

This season is shaping up beautifully, lotsa fun so far.

HS seems like a really fun class, good luck this year.

The rest of you guys should come out and see that D15's are more than respectable in the right hands...

yes 3rd gear ... after the friggin' turn around and back through the slalom and up the back end there I hit 3rd gear I bounced the rev limiter the first time in 2nd but decided to grab it the 3rd and 4th run and damn 120 is scarey fast in a parking lot.

however with that said I really wasn't ready for a upshift or down shift to or from 3rd.... I could have gone faster had I done that right. also every one of my runs I messed up I did something wrong each one of them. live and learn I guess I was still scarey fast..

yeah I was hitting the rev limit by the last cone of the slalom you know the one that was offset to mark the edge of the course.... I'd shift get on the gas for about a second more then bam hard on the brakes and a quick down shift for that corner
