Thumbs up OMGhi2U, winter fun!!!

is anyone aware of any ice racing going on?? it's the best, easiest, and cheapest way to learn the limits of your driving, your car, and your wallet it's actually quite competitive, but you learn all types of skids at very low speeds, and in controlled environments. if anyone is aware of any ice-racing "leagues", holla over herr.

yes it takes place in Minden on a track they setup (flooding a field it's not done on a lake) check out the ice racing forums on casc's message board. http://racing.kos.net/soloforums/

anyways it's door handle to door handle racing so don't expect the car to surviveafter the season is done.

that's okay... pick up an oil burning Civic, Corolla, Tercel, Micra, Swift... whatever and just take it to the ice races. hella fun, great driving! Ppl spend more money a month at the bars than it woulc cost for the whole season of fender to fender racing. Biggest investment would prolly be decent used winter tires.

yes you have a point there I'm going to give it a try next year.

anyways I would recommend gutting the car. installing a 6 point cage. and then filling the space between the body and the sub frame with 2x4's and foam. I saw an ice racer get kicked on the door where our cars would dent (this was a ice racing civic) and no damage was done. of course that same person is racing it again this year he built it for a 3 year life span.

Jason, you know Lee, he's a HADA member anyway.

I've been wanting to do this too, no time and $... My EF winterbeater will be for sale in March/April and would make a good Ice Racer for next year.

My Dad lives just oustside minden and we used to go watcht the Ice Races sometimes...There was one guy that jut kicked a$$ every time...we called him crazy man cus he would just drive ***** to the walls ad win every race. that was probably 5 or 6 years a go though...I forget his name, but i think we knew him somehow.

Anyways, great racing and it would be blast to try in a car setup properly for the conditions.

What kind of car, if it was a 323 GTX it was probably Tony McGrath, could have also been Tom Smith if it was a civic wagon.

if I was going to race up there I wouldn't be bothered with setting up a car.. just take it up trehre add tires and hope for the best...

I'd like to go one day to watch the racing... but I want to watch from somewhere warm.
