How fast is your Civic
#68
Hey guys, I know this sucks, but I managed to pull out 18.36@ 158.63 kph. This will soon change once I drop in the JDM B16B-R engine that my father bought for me. I told him I wanted to buy it myself so that I have the satisfaction of saying I bought it by myself but he insisted he got it for me when he was in Japan. I comes with LSD, 6 Gear Racing Tranny, 215hp tunable to 280hp, and of course it is DOHC/VTEC. When I am finished with my civic it will for sure be a Rice Rocket!

there is a lot of inaccuracies with your post... there is no b16b-r... it is just b16b... and the b16b makes 185 ish hp not 215... and they aren't tunable to 280... maybe with a turbo or nos... in which case why are you wasting all that money on a b16b in the first place... and while the trannies come with an lsd stock... they are not 6spd...
but one thing accurate is that your car is a rice rocket... gotta love those 5th gen type R hatches

This board is full of "know it alls" so I thought I would ask to see if the "know it alls" have the money to make a car go fast.
Because lets all face it....no matter how much you know about any car the only thing that makes it go faster is your WALLET.

1997 Civic LX sedan.... full trim. 1.6 SOHC D16Y7(non-vtec)...Added the baby seat for weight...Only bolt on part is a Ractive header...no squeeze and no turbo...Best run was 15.8 at 90 MPH.....ON THREE CYLINDERS.....Ring broke on #2 and lost compression....Still kicked the Neon's ***. This year will be different, we're going to squeeze every bit out of this thing that we can, all motor.

i think status quo has a few more inaccuracies here

key in on this sentence This will soon change once I drop in the JDM B16B-R engine that my father bought for me
so his father bought him an engine??
well if we look at his profile and his biography inside heres what it says
Biography: I was born in Detroit, Michigan USA, Raised in LA, Moved to Canada in 1994, And have been living here since. My father doesn't exist to me anymore, and I spend my time refining my car to ease the pain...
but if we look closer My father doesn't exist to me anymore
seems like a bit of inaccuracy to me

CAI = 5-10hp
100lbs of weight removed = 0.2 sec in the 1/4
with all this done, with the right driver and the right reaction time and the right tire pressure on not too hot of a day at the track, a neon like this should pull off a 15 flat or a 14.9.
Spewn would have to agree with me on this.
