imo, suspension over hp..
no need for hp when you don't have to brake as soon/often/hard

Buy some good tires... nothing else will help until you have your tires sorted out... or rent some slicks from gatherer.

rent slicks from me??? I haven't worn me tires out that much yet ......

what you need to do if it's your first time on the track is bleed your brakes before hand and make sure you got new pads and rotors broken in ....

I ask what track and what your competeing in solo 1 road racing or lapping day because it matters

brakes will fade with heat bring equipment to bleed brakes ... I remember when I was getting ready to go out on mosport DDT I stopped to talk to a friend before hand and I kept rolling the pedal hit the floor .. bled the brakes and I was ok ...

VERY VERY VERY IMPORTANT IS YOUR BRAKES HORSEPOWER AND SUSPENSION WON"T SAVE YOU WHEN DOING 100KM/H APPROACHING A 20KM/H TURN.

well Joker thats like asking whats the best order to put clothes on in the mroning.... there's tons of tires out there and most people haven't used enough different types they find one and stick to it ...

that said GRM magazine rated the new yoko a032R soft compounds as the best .... (I have the a032R's hard compound)

but that is just one mag ... and while that tire is DOT approved if you use it on the street be prepared for replacing tires every month

First time out? You'll probably be hard on your brakes the first while so bleed them. I use the crappy tire ford stuff.. works fine. Don't bother with your rotors if they're in good shape. You can upgrade your pads though. PBR metalmasters are a cost effective, decent semi metallic pad for someone just starting out. Auto Stop on Dundas and Mavis in mississauga can get them. As for tires, any R compound will do. You're not driving at 10/10ths, so don't worry about it. Actually, id just stick with your street tires for now and see if this is something you really want to do. No point shelling out seven or eight hundred bucks on tires and you never use them again. Sure you can sell them, but why go through that hassle. Concentrate on your driving and everything else will fall into place. You're not going to be breaking any records or turning any heads, so just go out there and have a blast! If you like it and want to make it an ongoing hobby, THEN you can start dishing out the big bucks and finding out what works best for you. Good luck.
