whats a safe car

imported_gatherer 08-Apr-2003 01:10 AM

a safe car ...no extra crap in the car like drinks or papers or loose things and a vechicle that is road worthy thats not going to dump all it's oil on the track in the first 10 feet

imported_JookSingKid 08-Apr-2003 03:10 AM

I'm in.

I suggest any of you interested in going should participate as well.
Its for a great cause and it will be a great way for you to step into your first SOLO event.

Its actually better to start off in a car with little or no mods and that will give you a format and direction to build up your cars

markpa 08-Apr-2003 11:49 AM

id bring my 4dr along but its says you need a helmet, and i dont have one.

imported_JookSingKid 08-Apr-2003 12:22 PM

They should have extra helmets there...

in the mean time, anyone want to go helmet shopping this weekend?

imported_SurferBoy 08-Apr-2003 01:31 PM

imported_gatherer 08-Apr-2003 03:43 PM

hey jooksingkid can I join in the helmet shopping ... I need one too

SiR Power 08-Apr-2003 05:38 PM

How much would a decent helmet cost around?:wavey:

imported_JookSingKid 08-Apr-2003 06:36 PM

Safety Helmet:

If you bring your own safety helmet, it must be approved by Snell in the current or two most recent ratings

(e.g. if Snell 95 is in production then that, 90 and 85 are legal).

The club provides loaner helmets for people who do not have one.

imported_Maxi 23-Apr-2003 12:34 AM

SiR Power, a basic M2000 (Snell rating) helmet goes for about $150. You can spend $1k+ for a high end kevlar custom painted SA2000 helmet if you've got a big enough wallet turbo :)

Hope you guys can come on out and join us for some fun on Saturday! We will have plenty of loaner helmets available.

Cheers,
Dave

fun day!

Just wanted to say thanks to all TCC members who came out and supported the Children's Wish Foundation at our autoslalom event on Saturday. We had a solid turn out of competitors and raised a good chunk of change (around 1.5K) while having a bunch of fun in the sun.

Hope to see y'all at our next autoslalom event on June 15th at the same venue.

Cheers,
Dave
