bring a spare set of brake pads. lots of straights with tight turns at the end of them means heavy braking ....

That means me diving out again into the grass, making more flat spots haha. I don't have spare sets of pads, I should really upgrade pads...

BTW guys, the track has been recently modified and is much gentler on brakes now. I did over 30 minutes at a fast lapping - moderate race pace in my miata with stock brakes (what ever pads and fluid the used car dealer put in it) with no fade at all. A few weeks later with the same fluid I went flat out for 6 laps or more trying to catch an M3 and very little fade at the end.

As long as you drive conservatively you shouldn't have any major brake issues.

I want to get involved in an event like this.

What is a "lapping event". Can you use this track from the full hours you are there?

A lapping event is when you pay a fee to the organizer to go around the track in your car. It's suppose to be a safe time for everybody to push their cars to limits that you wouldn't be able to on city streets because it is a closed course meant to be raced on. No one is actually racing, everybody is just going at their own pace respecting other peoples' space. Usually there are rules (or assumed rules) like no passing on turns and passing is only allowed on the straightaways just to keep things safe because no one wants to damage their car when they're trying to have fun.

During the time that you paid for, you are able to go on the track for as long as you want. So let's say the event is 3 hours long, you can literally be going around in laps for 3 hours straight if your car can handle that.

Ahh thanks for clearing things up. I just have a question. Lets say I want to tune my suspension during the course of the lapping. Is there like a pit lane exit where I can get off and do just that?

Man I AM REALLY going to go one of these days. Under $100 cant be beat.
