Audi 1.8 Tt Coupe

do any of you know anyone who owns this car?, if so they wasted thier money... BIG TIME

Audi 1.8 TT coupe
specs...
180 hp @ 5500rpm
173lb/ft @ 1950 - 4700 rpm
base price $50,000 - $54,000

Audi.com doesn't list the weight of the car

Bobby's car
'95 h/b B16A 2
168 hp
116 lb/ft
+ AEM CAI + lightweight drive pully
thats it... full interior + 80lb sub box

here's the kill story...

driving west on Eglington around Hwy 10 (mississauga), see in rear view little blue coupe weaving in and out of traffic and then flies by me @ aprox. 120 km/h (i was driving about 80), red light, both of us turning right @ McLauglin, I am now behind him, he takes off, I follow at a reasonable rate and then...

he gets the red at bristol (going north on McLauglin, past bristol 2 lanes merge about 200m past the light) and is in the left lane, I pull up beside in the right, before I'm even stopped, he's reving the motor, I look over and give him the "nod + point", and he responds with a "whatever I'll dust you" type smirk, I'm reving my and he starts before the light even turned...

I pop the clutch, and GO once I hit VTEC in second this guy was gone... I slow down turn to go home and he pulls up beside me (on residential road) and starts saying "how much did you dump in your car? $20,000?!?" I started laughing, he's in his mid 30's, asking me about the Turbo/Supercharger/NOS i have, and wouldn't believe my blue hatch is "ALL MOTOR".

that has been my only "race" all year

So has anyone gone with a VW/Audi with a 1.8T, you guys have stories? maybe this guy couldn't drive, he probably would have dusted me on the highway though.

to the moderators... this was all a dream and a fragment of my imagination

nice kill!!

i had a similar experience with a TT as well. Afterwards the guy wouldnt even look over. I guess these people get pissed when a CIVIC beats their $50,000 car.

with that being said, i guess its not all about straight-line speed with these cars. I'm sure they could hold their own in the twisties and it's got a sweet interior to boot.

this is very true
design gets an A+ from me performance gets a F,

I'd take a S2000 anyday over one of these... I used to work at acura, I had to pick up a S2000 and man, that car will smoke any car for 55G's and under, its got a sweet interior too

Yup you sorta feel like an ***...

Hell you could buy 3 civics with swaps for what this bonehead payed for a TT..

Now if it was the new TTR it might be a different story...

Nice Kill!

On the way to the meet on Wednesday, I was cruizzin to the meet with 4 other West Side Cars,

Around 401 and Mississauga Rd an a older Thunder Bird SE blows past us civics.

I was the last car in our train and I punched it into the third and chased him down.

I stayed back for a bit and waited for the other dudes to catch up...

then I pulled beside him... He hammers it, and I gun with him!

We're flying down 401, and inch by inch, I keep pulling infront until I hit redline in 4th and gear to 5th and pull way past him...

I wait for him to catch up, he turned out to be a really cool guy, he asked what I had under my hood, and I told him I added a couple of "Chillie Peppers" and smiled... he had a good laugh too.

And he cruized all the way with us until the Kennedy Road exit.

Gee ... $10,000.00 for a civic (at the most ) $20,000.00 in mods and swaps... That makes $30,000.00 for a souped up civic.. Where a Audi costs $50,000.00.... Ummm does it matter how much you spent in mods??? People are so ******* dumb!!!! The car is still under $50,000.00 and it smoked your ***!!! Shut the **** up buddy (Audi driver)!!!!

lets not forget about resale value though. true you could throw $20G's in a civic and make it kick almost anything out there but when you go to sell it, bye-bye money.

speed doesn't matter as much as prestige for older people(in general). my friend is currently doing a 1.8t swap so maybe next spring he'll have some kill stories for(about) you. he hates hondas. to top it off some new guy at work said all VWs are slow, any Honda will beat any VW but he doesn't even own a car! these guys give Honda owners bad names

i got a relatively stock 93 Si hatch and i've taken the 1.8t golfs a few times.... they weigh like 2800 lbs and sure they make 150ft*lbs of torque but the weight just kills them....

I did one on the highway last wed. I also thought they were fast. nice car though.

Also did a M3 twice. But I dont belive the guy know how to drive cause I thought those BMW'S were fast. Punk kid wouldnt give up till I taught him his lesson. lol
