Anyone run at St.Thomas dragway

I ran my friends Civic tonight and got a best time of 16.93 @ 80mph. That is slow, it is a 1998 Civic Si, d16y8. i/h/e... I seemed to burn through the gears and that makes no sense. My friend got 14.3 with his 08.5 mazdaspeed3 and my other friend got 15.13 with his 03.5 mazdaspeed protege. Is this track just prepped bad or why is that Civic so slow? I am scared to run my turbo hatch and run very slow.

That seems to be right, cause 16.93 @80mph is right. And the Mazdaspeed3 is a mid 14sec car. 16.5 is about what that single cam should be hitting.

Okay good. I didn't want to be too disappointed. I wasn't expecting a 15 something but I figured a bit better than what I got. Oh well. I have a turbo d15. I better net in the 14's.

Id shoot myself if i spent money on serious mods including a turbo setup and only ran 14's TBH.

Just for the sake of it, I ran 17.4 @ 77mph with a best of 2.4 60' in my D16y7 powered 96 Civic DX 5-speed. That was with a full tank of gas and my full system. Car was otherwise stock.

These cars are brutally slow with stock or close to stock D-series.

how bad were you spinning? what did you launch at and what tires and size did you have. all that makes a big difference. ive won against vr6 jetta's because of bad launch with my pritty much stocky eg w/z6.
best run was
rt= .393
60'=2.473
1/4= 16.445
mph= 82.54
bad launch can cause you to loose a second++ need more practice and you should get a little better.

high 16's sounds right for a 98 si.

I ran my 00 sir there when it was bone stock 2 years ago. It ran a 15.63@ ninety something mph.

Ran a 15.53 at cayuga last spring (08) with just a short ram intake and crappy tires.
