What turbo is this?

I've been trying to identify this turbo. I have the exact same one at home.

http://us1.webpublications.com.au/st.../2491_11lo.jpg

Previous owner says it's from a nissan skyline R34 (one of the twins).

The turbo I have is not a ball bearing turbo. All the twin turbo skyline engines, even going back to the r32, are all ball bearing turbos. So how can this be from an R34?

There are no numbers or ID plates on it anywhere. It is a nissan factory unit.

I need to know the specs on it to see if it will be a good match for my volvo.

If anyone can help me ID this turbo that would be great.

Thanks.

Here are some pics. The mystery turbo is the one on the left (the clean one with the extra pipe on the compressor outlet). The other is a dead one from an 87 volvo 740 turbo.

Update (not that anyone cares...lol)

Did some more research...it is from an R34, but not a GT-R. It's off an RB25DET from a GTS-T.

I still don't know the official model number (GT2850 for example). but I do know it should be well suited for the 2.3L in the volvo.

that is not a t2 series turbo. the turbine inlet flange is a t3 series. the 6 bolt discharge pattern is a first for me. i've seen 3 bolt, 4 bolt, 5 bolt and 7 bolt, but never a 6 bolt.

as for a size match for your 2.3 well, it depends on what you are after. i don't think i'd try and push more than 1 bar out of that.

If I'm not mistaken, t28 series turbos have t3 flanges and t25's have a different (smaller) flange...

4thgen; If you have the same one, do you know the model number???

Found this of the ZCR....

Nissan/Garrett RB25DET (T3 style)
The Garrett T3-based turbocharger from Nissan’s RB25DET engine is one of the biggest OE Japanese turbos you can buy. They’re also relatively easy to find because they’re factory fitment to the ever-popular R33 Skyline GTS25T.

One of the biggest attractions of this turbo is its sophisticated design – it uses a water-cooled core with a roller bearing, ceramic turbine and lightweight compressor. These factors contribute to a very fast spool-up time.

In standard form, the RB25DET engine generates 187kW and we have seen the standard turbo pushed to around 250kW in some applications. At this output, however, the ceramic turbine is likely to fail – especially when held at high load for extended durations.

The RB25DET turbocharger employs a 60mm compressor inlet and a 38mm discharge nozzle. The compressor housing is identified with a 0.40 A/R. On the exhaust side, the turbine inlet passage is 65 x 45mm and the mounting flange measures 110 x 70mm. The turbo connects to the exhaust manifold with 4 bolts and the dump pipe is attached by 6 bolts.
