Turbo Stock B16 questions for the pros
#2
i'm running 8psi right now on my 11.5:1 CR stage 2 cammed, stock block b16, on Neptune it made 250whp and 175wtq. I've got a 2.5" cat and exhaust with a baffled resonator and 2.5" magnaflow muffler.
I'm using a 255lph fuel pump, 580cc precision low impedance injectors with OEM resistor box installed without permanently modding anything (no cutting or soldering).
I'll be switching to 01 gsr cams soon, instead of the crane stage 2's that i've had in there for the last 4 years (n/a built before), these cams are meh for boost, a little too big for a b16 IMO b/c as I ****** out the cam gears to get the power up theres a dip right when vtec engages no matter where its set (lower engagement is worse) and no matter what I do in terms of tuning. They worked pretty good while n/a, but boosted is different.

your injectors would most likely be maxxed out at 5psi around 6000rpms.
Stock honda injectors max out around 200whp.
Just so you know, you can buy a set of new 440s and a new 255lph fuel pump for like $300.
Just don't expect to be able to toss in larger injectors and go, you HAVE to tune the car for the larger injectors, and you have to tune the car for boost.

Zeeman, i understand what you're saying about the injectors and fuel pump, i have those sitting in my EG project that hasn't been finished due to a few reasons, and now that i have an SIR, i was looking into boosting that and just leaving the EG stock, but at the same time, my intentions are not to go crazy as the SIR is a daily driver for me. Thanks for the input.

boost the SiR, use the injectors/pump you've got from your other project, you'll just have to wire up some obd0 or obd1 injector clips so they fit your obd2 vehicle and get an obd2b to obd1 ecu conversion harness and a chipped p28 and you'll be set. Then tune it and enjoy it.
