peicing together a B16 turbo set-up
I want to begin buying parts for an upcoming turbo set-up and im still wondering about the ideal turbo. Like most b16 owners id like alot more torque at the low end, but i understand that a smaller turbo (T3, T3/04e, T25) will be less efficient in the higher rpm's of a b16. I want boost under 4k but also dont want it to die off above 7k, whats the best all around option for a b16?

T3 is not small....
T3/t04 is definatly not a small turbo
t25 will die in the upper RPM but a decent sized t3 or even t3/t4 will NOT die in the upper rpm, not on a honda anyways

Here is a quick GT28RS compressor map I made up for the stock B16:
Red line:
- 15psi @ 8200rpm = 29 lb/min
- 15psi @ 4000rpm = 14 lb/min
Blue Line:
- 10psi @ 8200rpm = 24.5 lb/min
- 10psi @ 4000rpm = 12 lb/min
Red line:
- 15psi @ 8200rpm = 29 lb/min

Blue Line:

- 10psi @ 4000rpm = 12 lb/min

What about this one?
Garrett T3 super 60, 42ar/.48ar combo or .42ar/63ar combo , please state which one during sh
I want low end power for my stock B16. I am sick of driving in the city it pisses me off and makes me wonder why did I even choose a B16 because the motor is so powerless unless I rev high.
Where do you guys recommend a relatively cheap, good quality log manifold? I am considering one from SPooling Performance. I would prefer AC and PS compatible.

Not that a gt28rs is a way larger turbo than a t3.60 but it will definately take more out of the turbo to make 280whp than a gt28.

For your reference, here is a Super 60 compressor map with calculations for a stock B16:
Red line:
- 15psi @ 8200rpm = 29 lb/min
- 15psi @ 4000rpm = 14 lb/min
Blue Line:
- 10psi @ 8200rpm = 24.5 lb/min
- 10psi @ 4000rpm = 12 lb/min
If all you want is 200whp, and low end power, the .48 A/R exhaust housing will serve you best, but keep in mind, you will start running out of breath at higher rpm's.
I think you should also consider the fact that Honda engines, for the most part, are designed to be revved high. By using a small turbo all you are doing is transferring peak turbo efficiency to low rpms. This may sound fine, however, since your B16 is designed to make power at high rpms, all your doing is making your turbo efficient where your motor is not. You shouldn't try to change the design of your B16, but work with it's advantages, and size the turbo properly. Otherwise you will make mediocre low end power, and just when your engine wants to truly shine, your turbo becomes nothing but a restriction blowing hot air.
And lastly, please be wary of whom you buy a Super 60 from. There is a T3 Super 60, and the T3 60 trim. They ARE NOT the same thing. The Super 60 is a fairly rare turbo, so 90% of the "Super 60's" you see out there are in fact 60 Trim's. The folks who sell them mistakenly call them Super 60's because it sounds cooler.

You should just get a standard t3/t4oe with a small ar.
