My "pieced together" turbo kit, do i need more?

Just wanted to have some input on my turbo kit setup list.
I am trying to budget for everything that I may need to boost my car.
My list of what I think I will need is listed below

-turbo

-manifold

-downpipe

-wastegate

-blow-off valve

-dumptube (if using an external wastegate)

-oil lines

-oil filter sandwich

-intercooler piping

-intercooler

-fittings, couplers, clamps, vacuum lines

-larger injectors (450cc will do if you only want 250whp)

-255lph walbro fuel pump

-some sort of PCV system (catch can, )

-Apexi power fc

-tuning

-different MAP sensor, GM 3 bar, motorolla 2.5/3/4 bar if you wanna run more
than 11psi b/c the stock MAP is only good for 11psi

Rad + fan mishimoto

Thermostat Gates racing

Silicon radiator hoses

OBD2a->OBD1 conversion harness 60

exhaust heat wrap + metal ties 50

Resister box

throttle body

Vacuum Manifold

You don't NEED the apex-i power FC, especially if you're converting to obd1 already, just use a chipped obd1 ecu and get tuned with Neptune. Also the stock thermostat and rad hoses will do just fine, you don't really need the heat wrap either, especially if you're going to use an aftermarket rad.

I'd personally spend that money on 3" exhaust, a good clutch to handle the torque you'll be making and a good boost controller....but it sounds like you're on the right track

Right now i have a 2.5" exhaust, will this work or should i really consider the 3" upgrade?

I am going to get the synapse wastegate, and that has a boost controller built in to it. =)

well without knowing which engine this is going on, its hard to say. Typically 2.5" on a B-series will support 300whp....not so much on a D-series though.

I wouldn't say the synapse wastegate has a boost controller built in, but instead of having to change wastegate springs you just have to configure the vacuum routing to get your desired boost level. The synapse wastegate is definately a nice peice.

Turbo makes the exhaust much quiter. 3" n/a will be much louder than 3" turbo.
I have some turbo parts, if you need something, just pm me.

What about engine mounts. I've ben told with boost you should get better engine mounts. Is that true or am I just blowing smoke.

Looks like your laundry list has everything you need, plus more.

Maybe get 3 gauges (EGT, Oil Pressure and Boost guages), unless that was already a given when you wrote the list

you definately do not NEED a wideband o2 sensor. They're nice to have, but keep in mind the o2 sensor wears out over time and needs to be replaced. This i've learned from experience. Hell, i replace my sensors about 2-3 times a year and thats just from tuning cars, i don't even use the thing in my car every day.

Depeding on which muffler you use and if you decide to use a cat/resonator will dictate how loud your exhaust system is. I've seen some full 3" exhausts that are much quieter than even 2.25" exhaust setups. Pick a decent muffler and it'll be nice and quiet. My 2.5" exhaust is quiet as hell, until I go into boost, but i've got a cat, resonator and a muffler.

If you plan on doing some drag racing with the vehicle I would highly suggest getting some better engine mounts, but for a daily driver the stock ones are ok for the most part.
