Exhaust piping for Turbo

Hey, I'm putting together a h22 turbo ek hatch, I have a mig welder and am looking for a piping kit, whats the best kit to get here in the gta, I will mostly likey have to get one shipped from the states.

I'm trying to get it done cheaply but not ebay cheap, I've seen piping kits for like 265us but am looking for some input first.

Exhausts

Piping Kit (92-00 Civic Hatchback) - BLACK LABEL

thinking of using one of these kits in 3inch.

or should I just pay a shop to get it done, willing to pay like 6or 700 to have it done but I don't think that'll happen...

get some stainless straight section from metal supermarkets and order some 3" mandrel bends. Also you can get some stainless hangers from vibrant or get some round stock from metal super markets and make your own hanger.

I have used the exhaust kit you linked there and it was good but i didn't like that it was a slip fit.

cool, I'll check out metal supermarkets when I get home. Whats wrong with slip fit? just weld around the seem?
do you think it's more expensive to buy exhaust system piece by piece?
I was looking at the metal supermarkets ss pipe, I could get a 4inch ss 304 sch10 piping, that would be sweet, or is it to heavy?

4" would be over kill you dont need any bigger then 3"

If your looking for some thing quite we have been using magna flow 3" turbo diesel mufflers they work great and arent loud at all.

Go buy a muffler of choice, and a high-flow cat. Then go to a shop and get everything put in with 3"piping. Done.

Nothing paticularly wrong with slip realistically but its a much cleaner look when but welded, much better fit and finish. The straight 3" 304 .060-.080" (forget what it is exactly they carry) is perfect for the straight sections for the exhaust. What will make it pricey however is sourcing 3" mandrel bends for a good price.

4" is also too big if this is a street car you will want 3" for a turbo car minimal 2.5" dependant on your backpressure/turbo setup.

4" is way too big for a street turbo h22. 3" is most common and probably the best choice.

No such thing as to big of an exhaust on a forced induction setup. Go 4" if you'd like, it would be over-kill, but who cares..

there is such thing as too big of an exhaust on a forced induction car. Exhaust back pressure has a huge effect to the power curve of the engine.

As i said majority of the vechiles will be equipped with 3" exhaust but its dependant on the setup.

you will be happy you did, your dyno graph will go to show what effect the 3" exhaust has on the way your torque carries. There are obviously other mechanical coomponents that can effect it but exhaust has a big effect.

you will not be restricted in the mid to top end although you may scarifice low end torque. This will be dependant on other things such as turbo manifold, turbo, turbo housing and generally exhaust back pressure. With a restriction in either of those you may see torque begin to fall off in the top end.

finally an update. I bought some 3" piping and mandrel bends from a place called exhaust direct in London. I alos purchase their ceramic high flow cat.
I want to try and make this car quiet so I got a vibrant ultra quiet resonator.

Should I get another resonator to make it even more quiet?
What muffler should I get? Something functional, no "bling".
I was going to get a Moroso Spiral flow of ebay for like 50$+ship.

You can almost run straight turbo and it would be quieter than most NA setups with cat-back or full custom exhaust systems. Turbo's alone quiet down the noise quite a bit.

I would suggest that 1 resonator would easily be enough, plus a large, straigh-through or semi-baffled muffler of equal pipe diameter to sound nice and keep the noise level down.

We run a magna flow spun race cat (barely does anything) and a cherrybomb semi-baffled vortex muffler straight out the back after the down pipe on our turbo MR2 and it's VERY quiet compaired to my b16 with header and full custom 2.5" exhaust system with high flow cat, resonator and muffler.
