using 98 type r ecu (p73) with stock b16a2

anyone know if changing my stock ecu from my 99 sir b16a2 to a 98 type r p73 ecu makes any sense? i'm planning on getting a turbo by next year so should i wait.. or can i use this type r ecu with a turbo set up?

thanks

it doesn't make sense either way.

You have a 1.6L DOHC VTEC the p73 ecu is for a 1.8L DOHC VTEC.

If you are going to go turbo you NEED to convert down to obd1 and get tuned, the p73 won't help in either situation.

What I would do is convert down to obd1 now and use a chipped p28 with a b16 program, or spend the money and get the car tuned now if you're looking for more power.
