Hey guys i have a 2000 1.6 lt non vtech only at idle it misfires and sounds like its about to die then the rpm goes up a bit and keeps running ive changed the plugs wires cap and rotor and its still there any suggestions? there also sounds like a small vacuum leak from around the throttle body area not sure if this is maybe a normal noise from the throttle body or not please help if can

Rough idle is not really descriptive enough.

Does it stall? Does the idle bounce up and down? Does it misfire?

If its SOLY an idle issue, you'll be looking at, vacuum leak, fitv/iacv problems.

i have the same problem but only shortly after start when the engine is cold perhaps...it boggs sounds like its gonna die then gets back up again then does the same for a few mins and then i usually reverse and put it in gear and its fine after that..
