Overhauled engine burning oil
Hopefully can pinpoint the problem im having here.......
Just recently i had a d16y7 overhauled with new piston rings, all new gaskets, top end seals replaced etc. From the beginning i have been burning oil and i thought ok maybe it just needs to seal itself. 20 000kms later its still burning the same amount as day one. I've done a compression test and thats solid 215ish across with little variance. Leakdown test shows less than 5% leakage. PCV valve is working AFAIK (vacuum when engine is running). Its burning about half a liter in about 700km pure highway steady 100km/hr. Now what could this be? Gotta be the oil rings right? Thanks!

valve seals maybe when its cold that normal if they leak once the car warms up they usually dont unless there really bad...you could be getting your rings didnt get set correctly and didnt get properly gapped. or you didnt break the engine in right causing bad ring sealing or your cylinders are not within specs, and now its not scrapping the oil off the cylinder like it should and your burning oil
