It sounds like a vac leak.

If you're in the west end come check out zeeman and my shop. We're in Oakville and do out-standing work.

Is your motor equipped with a FITV? Is your coolant topped up?

do you have a fitv (fast idle thermo valve)? it is located under the throttle body.

yup mi beileve its either the iavc or vac leak cause when i unpluged the iavc it stoped reving ad droping but it could be a vac leak too tho cause it sort of has a hissing noise during acceleration, i rthoguht it was ac

hissing noise is deinfately a sign of a vacuum leak. Remove your intake and plug the FItV port inside the tb. This is the lower port in the tb bore. Also use intake cleaner or brake clean to locate your vacuum leak.

guys i had the same problem with stupid idle **** and before i started forking out cash for new parts i asked 837452 people if they knew what it was and an old timer told me to check the THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR on the back side of the throttle body... some of them are adjustable... i have a 2nd gen b16 and it just happened to be adjustable... the way it works is basically a ground and power... and the throttle plate determines which one its closer two... if its in the wrong spot ... then it reads the wrong voltage and doesnt know what the **** is going on...

just crack loose the two screws and rotate it a degree or two

i couldnt believe how simple of a fix it was
