how to install a d series starter for eg
#2
disconnect negative terminal on battery post.
Remove 10mm bolt that fastens the harness to the starter bracket. Remove solenoid male terminal connector (just pull it out) pull back power wire boot and remove with a 12mm wrench. Remove two 14mm bolts fastening the starter to the engine/trans. Install in repeat fashion.
Easy as pie.. the rear 14mm starter bolt might take awhile without an air ratchet.. but its still not hard.

you don't need to jack the car up, but i would take the intake arm off, that'll give you easier access to the starter.
Use a 1/2 ratchet (or a breaker bar) to loosen the 14mm starter bolts, they can be very stubborn.
