High Idle Problem

Hey guys, im having a high idle problem. When starting up the car while its cold it idles at 2500rpm and when its heated it usually stays between 1500-1800rpm sometimes 2000rpm I had an engine swap done (94 Gsr USDM)about 1 year ago and i havent played around with the screw to adjust idle. Anyways i decided to do the easy servicing first to see if that helps. I topped up my coolant, changed engine oil, changed spark plugs. It didnt help. I cant seem to find any vacuum leaks. I havent checked out the iacv either. The car burns oil and there is bogging when i shift down. Even when the car is in neutral its not a steady tone. I can hear bogging sounds.

Today the car turned off on its own on the highway. But i started it again and it started up fine(ofcourse still with the high idle). Also while stopped at a light the rpm dropped to 800 and went back up to 1800rpm. im still not sure if it was my knee hitting the key out of start position that made the car turn off on the highway because before stopping in the shoulder lane i revved the motor a few times and it revved(the rpm meter was on 0rpm though and same with the speedometer, 0km/hr). I even put it in gear but it wouldnt accelerate, it would just rev. This was while the car was moving on its own.

There is also a ticking noise coming from the engine but it got quieter after i changed the engine oil. Not sure if all these problems have anything to do with eachother. I was told to replace the alternator(i didnt yet).

My car is daily driven so guys any suggestions and help will be greatly appreciated. Please Help. Thx

Sounds like you have a list of on-going problems.

Are there any check engine lights on? You probably have a vacuum leak. Just because you cant find it, doesnt mean its not there. What did you plugs look like when u pulled them?

Im not sure how to spot a vacuum leak actually. I thought it would b soemthing noticeable. What do i look for to figure out if theres a vacuum leak? My spark plugs ground electrode are a little white with black spots. i think theyre just a little worn out.

Then take it to a mechanic. I cannot teach diagnostic skills over the internet.
