Help: B18c1 power steering pump doesn't fit JDM B18b

Is it just me or does the B18B JDM power steering bracket and pump different from a USDM B18C1?

I tried using the brackets from my B18c1 and the holes don't line up on the block, and when i put the bracket which came with the B18B then the pump from a b18c1 doesn't line up with the bracket.

Shouldn't all B series PS pumps/brackets be the same ?

The following shows the PS pump bracket for the B18B: Part Detail

And this shows the bracket for the B18C1: Part Detail

They use the same lower PS bracket, but different upper brackets. There is also a listing for 2 different power steering pumps. I'm not sure which is for which engine. You could probably look at the picture and determine which one you have, then decided if you need to use a different bracket and or different pump.

Hope that helps.

Why don't you just use the old pump.

I had the same Problem when i was doing my motor swap i ended up using my b18b1 powersteering and slapped it onto the b18c.

Unless the other powersteering is screwed do this method did mine and everything A OK!
