Engine light coming on all the time, normal or not?

I recently swapped a jdm gsr, my engine light comes on almost everytime i drive it, my mechanic who did all the work says its normal, Becasue of the jumper cable on my ecu. My car overheated yesterday and when i hit vtec, it doesnt sound as strong as it did a few days ago.

is this bs?

i'd find out exactly what code you're throwing. you have to becareful with overheating issues. the last thing you'd want is to cook the motor and crack the cylinder head.

CEL on all the time is not normal. Like the above post, get the code pulled and go from there.

I agree, when my swap was done a CEL came on when my mechanic first fired it up, he pulled the code fixed the problem and I haven't had a CEL since.
