so i bought a car(1991 hatch) this weekend was told the engine was a b16a2 out of a 00 civic sir is there any way of telling that this is what it is ? and the ecu i cant find anything on the ecu its has this writing on it 37820-p28-c01 vision performance program dohc vetec 5000 vtec 8500rev. The car its going to go in is a 99 3dr civic what should i do for a wire harness the harness thats attached to it now has wires coming out of it on what looks to be a jumper cable. But any infomation would be great thanks

if its going into a 93 civic it'll plug right into the engine harness without a jumper harness, there must be an obd0-obd1 jumper harness if you're using a p28 in a 1991 civic.

to find out what engine it actually is, the engine code is stamped on the block to the bottom left of where the header is attatched to the block. As long as the block is fairly clean, it should be clearly visible, unless someones f'd with it...

i bought the 1991 3dr just for the motor and i am going to put the motor into a 1999 3dr and the engine is stamped as b16a2

no check near the headers.. just above of the headers should be stamped not the side
