drain bolt - torque?
Hi all,
I'm sometimes paranoid of stripping the oil pan, anyone know what the torque spec is for the drain bolt..99 civic sir? Thanks |

Just grab the wrench close to where the drain plug is, then turn it firmly. It's not fun overtorquing a drainplug, I did it on my Civic once and had to re-tap and thread it. Pain in the butt. |

I saw a co-op kid one time use a torque wrench on a drain plug.. I made fun of him until his term was over at my shop.. lol

Its recommended, just go to the dealership sometimes they give them out for free. Otherwise if you MUST use the same washer, then just flip it over so it crushes again.
I never flip washers or change them unless they are leaking prior to removal. The truth is, you can re-use these washers several times without an issue. |

its just a like plastic kinda gasket u should change it everytime sometimes it leaks i change mine everytime
