D16y7 swap in 89 civic lx

Hello so my transmission on the stock motor in my 89 civic was bad so I decided to go ahead and get a new motor and transmission setup for it because the d15b2 hade 260k+ miles on it anyways. So I found a D16y7 with a hydraulic transmission (that's only the beggining of my problems) with only 50k on them for a good price so I snatched them ( I made sure to get the ecu as well). I've got the b2 pulled and the y7 is on a cherry picker ready to be put in for now I'm wondering what I should do before dropping it in because I'm borrowing the cherry picker from a friend and need to get it back to him.
(Any and all info advice suggestions ect. Is greatly appreciated! !!!!)

Thank you for your time

I know I'm going to need to do an obd 1 swap and a dpfi to mpfi swap and Im not sure if the wiring harness will work so I might need a new one of those also I hear I'm supposed to use the mounts off of the b2 bUT passender side isnt looking like it will line up. And I have heard I can use the intake off of the b2 for the time being right? Like I said any and all suggestions are appreciated sooner I get this Honda running the better!!! Performane stuff is not a necessity it can wait until I have this sumb**** running! Thank you

Problem one is the hydro trans, look up hushperformance they make a conversion kit for hydro trans in a cable chassis like your EF gen civic. Tho for what your building I'd really suggest just finding another cable trans, or really best bang for your buck, a good running motor swap from a 90-93 Integra. (92-93 GSR would be best but a 90-91 LS would be easier)

The hydro trans is gonna require you to add a master and slave cylinder as well as change the clutch pedal and run a line from the firewall to the trans near the rad. You will want to read up on this and find that hush makes the conversion as easy as possible, but it's still work and $$$

Any d series cable trans will bolt up to a y7 other than some obscure ones that may have come off a DOHC D series like a ZC or D16a1 for example, those might not work.

You could convert to OBD1, but you'll need a P05 ecu (or P06 maybe? Non VTEC OBD1 ECU anyway) or a chipped OBD1 ECU, the y7 is OBD2, you could convert the car to OBD2 as well, but more work than it's worth. If the intake manifold and exhaust manifolds fit as well as the distributor from the old b2, than I'd say if it's just a swap to keep the car moving, swap those over and keep the car running the stock ECU.

probably a good choice. wiring VTEC is fairly simple, I'd recommend getting an OBD-0 to OBD-1 conversion harness for the ECU, they usually have leads for things like the VTEC pressure and solenoid, the ground wire you just run from the solenoid to anywhere on the motor to ground it as needed. You may need to re-pin the distributor as well. Been a while since I've done anything swap related to a single jingle other than pull them out for a B swap but if you do it's not too hard, or there are conversion harnesses for that too (for B series there is anyway) but I found the price vs the difficulty of re-pinning not worth it.
