D eries Engines.

Hello Everyone.

Are the exhuast and Intake ports the exact same between the D15B7 and the D16Z6 or the other D16(sixth gen) Engines?

for example if I take a D16Z6 intake manifold and place it on the D15B7 will it fit and bolt up?

Thanks.

and please don't respond if all you want to say is "why would you do that?"

yes it will. I'll be using a d16y8 intake manifold on a d16z6 head with a d16y7 block. I've test fitted the Y8 manifold on the Z6 head and it fits no problem. Using the Z6 manifold on a B8 will work just fine, you might need to fab something up for the throttle cable bracket though.

They fit.. but if I recall the gaskets were a bit different, with the z6 being slightly bigger. So make sure your gasket is nice and clean. Usually what I do is spray some paint on the gasket before tq'ing up the manifold, i find that this helps it seal better.
