crazy oil leak
Anyways, I was driving my car and suddenly I notice I was leaving a trail of oil everywhere I go.
Anyhow, I took it to the shop and when they foudn the problem, they told me I should change my belt to because alot of oil got into the belt and it can damage it.. Are they just trying to get more $ from me -_-!! |
i'd change it. oil can ruin anything sometimes. and anyways. better safe then sorry in the end.

First of all, why were you leaking that much oil all of a sudden?
Did they forget to tighten the oil filter or oil drain bolt? If it was their fault that caused oil to get everywhere shouldn't you be reimbursed for damages? |
its not the oil filer or the drain plug
Cause when I saw it leaking, I thought that was the problem and since the oil was getting durty I changed it myself. The mechanic said something about it coming from the heat sheild, but I dont know. Anyways, I decided not to change the belt. Its only been exposed to little oil for maybe max 2-3 days. |
throw a replacement belt and a ratchet set in your trunk for when it snaps....
good luck |
^^the belt is not just going to snap...
Dont worry about it, unless its noisy. |
thanks Chris, I know I can always trust you xD

If the actual belt is on its way out, its gona be noisy or physically ripped. |
wait wait wait... what belt??? if we're talking timing, I'd absolutely replace it immediately. contaminated t-belt is just a bad idea. if we're talkin any other belt, then the worst it can do is leave you with no a/c, no power steering, or no alternator charge.
