changing gsr obd2 to obd1 then chipping pricing?
hey so i want to chip my gsr.. so ive heard i have to convert it to a obd1 wiring harness before i chip it.. so im wondering if anyone knows around how much it will all cost.. and what kind of hp increase i will get..also wil i have to get the motor tunned after?

Generic chips kind of suck. Your better off getting a dyno tune done, that way the chip is specific to your actual motor and upgrades. What upgrades are done to your motor? You could probably find an ECU for around $100 or so, and I think the conversion harness is around the same (not sure though).

all you need is an obd2-obd1 ecu conversion harness and chipped obd1 ecu. I would personally use a p72 ecu so you can take advantage of the IABs that the GSR engines have. This is all plug and play so there is no difficult installation required.
However, without getting the car tuned for your specific application, the gains will most likely be minimal.
