Generic chips kind of suck. Your better off getting a dyno tune done, that way the chip is specific to your actual motor and upgrades. What upgrades are done to your motor? You could probably find an ECU for around $100 or so, and I think the conversion harness is around the same (not sure though).

i dont have much done.. just headers .. hasport mounts.. k&n air intake and fuel pressure regulator... so your saying just get my car dyno tunned? is it really worth it with the little mods i have..

Not really, you get some gains, and better fuel economy. You'll see the most gains after you do something like cams. Give Zeeman a pm and see what he recommends.

all you need is an obd2-obd1 ecu conversion harness and chipped obd1 ecu. I would personally use a p72 ecu so you can take advantage of the IABs that the GSR engines have. This is all plug and play so there is no difficult installation required.

However, without getting the car tuned for your specific application, the gains will most likely be minimal.
